Hello Everyone,
We want to bring updates to our film projects. As summer has progressed, we have made several progress in preparation of our film project.
One of our main goals is to manufacture our components in-house, including film canisters, spools, backing paper, and packaging, by developing our own equipment and processes.
At the moment, we’re in the design phase for both 135 and 120 film canisters and spools. These designs are being refined from various film manufacturers. Please note that the design for the film canister and film spool is currently shown here is not finalized.
After numerous experiments and testing various process conditions, we solved the problem of the black light-shielding layer of the 120 backing paper, making it completely light-proof. While the current samples still show some imperfections, we’re confident that further refinements will eliminate light leaks entirely. This is to ensure the reliability and quality of our film.
The purpose of producing our own packaging and final finishing for our film project is to achieve complete independence. By keeping production fully in-house, we avoid reliance on third-party manufacturers, ensuring that our project remains free of outside entanglements. More importantly, it gives us complete control over quality, consistency, and innovation. We aim to be fully self-sufficient, from emulsion production to film packaging and finishing.
This journey is still ongoing, but every improvement brings us closer to launching a truly independent film that reflects our vision from start to finish. We can’t wait to share more updates as we progress. We also aim to be informative, and we plan to provide updates on our film and lens project on a weekly basis.
We thank you for continuing to support our journey!
