Hello Everyone,
After extensive testing throughout 2023 and the completion of multiple optical prototypes, we are pleased to announce that development of the Light Lens Lab 75mm f/2 "SP-II" has reached its final prototype stage and is now ready for production.
Production of the 75mm f/2 "SP-II" will commence following the completion of our current 35mm f/1.4 Aspherical "11873" orders. This lens represents the next step in expanding our "SP-II" series into additional focal lengths. Subject to final production timelines, fulfillment is currently scheduled to begin on March 20, 2026, with pre-orders beginning on March 1st, 2026.

Key Features
The 75mm f/2 "SP-II" represents a continued expansion of the "SP-II" series into new focal lengths, with the long-term goal of offering comprehensive focal length coverage within the "SP-II" lineup.

The 75mm f/2 "SP-II" pays homage to one of the four most celebrated optical schematics of the 1900s: As part of our promise to research the legacy of the optical family "ACDK", it draws from the optical foundation of the existing 50mm f2 “SP-II”, forming the optical foundation of the "SP-II" lineage.

The 75mm f/2 "SP-II" follows the established optical philosophy of the SP-II series and employs a classic Double-Gaussian design with achromatic elements to deliver a distinctive vintage rendering while retaining the signature SP-II character, with improved sharpness and detail resolution.

Wide-open at f/2, the lens produces a highly atmospheric rendering with smooth tonal transitions and naturally rounded out-of-focus areas. When stopped down to f/2.8 and beyond, it transitions to a more clinical clarity, delivering crisp resolution and refined detail across the frame.
